R.E.A.L. Ministries is about JESUS
...and the way He has set us free. R.E.A.L. stands for Real Evidence of Abiding Love. Through the "burning bushes" and the "parting of seas" in our lives, we have come to see and believe in the abiding love of the Lord Almighty. Real Ministries is an outreach delivering the message of hope and healing to a hurting world through the avenues of music, testimony, preaching, teaching, prayer and service. The desire of our heart is that everyone reached by R.E.A.L. Ministries will encounter the evidence and the power of Jesus Christ's abiding love.
For a long time I treated the Bible and the story of Jesus Christ as if it all rested somewhere between fact and fairytale. One night in 1999, after coming home from the hospital, diagnosed with cancer, I had an incredible encounter with Jesus. That encounter makes it completely impossible for me to deny His existence and that He is exactly who the Bible claims He is. One year later, I sat alone in the chapel of my home church, Christ Church of Nashville, when I heard the Lord clearly calling me "into the ministry". Feeling led to continue, in various settings, to share my testimony of being completely healed of cancer, I founded R.E.A.L. Ministries in 2000. I have since served in various areas of ministry including homeless outreach, recovery groups, victims of rape and abuse, youth ministry, women's ministry and single mothers.
I married my high school sweetheart and first love, Kirk Welch, in 2007. He now joins me in this ministry, sharing his powerful testimony of God's love, mercy and grace in his life. We have both come to believe that the revelation of Jesus' very real love will set you free from being captive to the pain and heartache of this world. If you will follow him, He will lead you into the light of His Kingdom where you will find rest, peace and liberty. This is not to say that after receiving Christ's love by surrendering your life and following Him, that life suddenly gets easy. That would be a misleading lie. On the contrary, you will still encounter the same trials of life but you will find victory over challenges you were not able to conquer without Him. You will find freedom from things that enslaved you before. You will experience "the peace that passes understanding" if you allow Him to be your guide and take you through the storms of this life.
We encourage you to allow Jesus to become the Lord of your life. It's simple. Just ask, "If you are real, Jesus, would you make yourself known to me?" When you begin to experience the real evidence of His abiding love, surrender your life. Give up your whole heart, mind, spirit and body to Jesus. Allow Him to be the Lord of your life. It is our passion to share our stories with people, pray together and walk side by side with others in this journey. We want to spread the Love of Jesus like wildfire.
